Hundreds of South Australian active recreation and sporting clubs are set to receive a funding boost through the State Government’s Active Club Program (ACP).

More than $1.2 million will be distributed to 502 recipients, to support clubs in further developing the programs and services they provide within the community.

Through this round of the ACP, clubs are now able to utilise their funding to help break down barriers around menstruation that can impact female participation in physical activity.

This includes using grants for period products, flexible uniform offerings, menstrual health training and menstrual health resources.

Other eligible project costs under the ACP includes spending funds on sporting equipment, professional development for coaches/staff/officials, medical training/equipment, and club promotion.

Clubs with 100 or more members will receive $3,000, while those with 20 – 99 members will obtain $1,500.
