To develop a better understanding of sport and active recreation infrastructure in South Australia, the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing has developed a database of proposed sport and active recreation infrastructure projects across the state.
The registration of interest has been designed to collect essential information to build a database of projects. With permission, key project details will be viewable on this page and sent to potential stakeholders such as State Sporting Organisations and Local Councils.

Several areas of the facility are in urgent need of repair, along with a requirement for a paid contractor engaged by Diamond Sports SA to implement risk assessment plans, evacuation policy and procedures and various governance documents. There is a dire need for improvement of facility management and risk mitigation strategies. This project will see the facility brought up to an acceptable safety level. With an MLB Audit to be conducted on the baseball diamond in the coming weeks, we are concerned that the field will not pass the strict audit guidelines which will stop top international players form being allowed to play at the venue. In 2019, WDCC Committee agreed to focus on seeking grant funds to upgrade the existing turf practicenets which are approximately 20 years old and are showing signs of wear and tear. The nets are used by junior/senior players at a minimum three nights a week which increases during representative
tournaments. The nets don't meet Community Cricket Facility Guidelines, there are gaps between the roof and sides due to a lack of structural integrity, causing continual drifting of cricket balls between the nets during practice sessions causing a potential safety hazard to players and coaches and creating a distraction during practice time. There have been occasions in the 2019/20 season where cricket balls have passed through gaps in the nets and onto neighbouring roofs and rolling onto assets on the property posing a possible risk of causing damage. Coaches have been providing a positive liaison role on behalf of the club by listening to and reassuring the neighbours and taking action to minimise the risk by closing the gaps as much as practicable.
