South Australian sport and recreation organisations now have another chance to apply for their share in the Marshall Government’s significant investment in sporting facilities.

$20.6 million in funding is now available through the Infrastructure Projects 2021-22 grant programs, consisting of:

• Community Recreation and Sport Facilities Program 2021-22 ($5.6 million)
• Grassroots Facilities Program Round 2 ($10 million)
• Regional and Districts Facilities Program Round 2 ($5 million)

Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing Corey Wingard said the Marshall Government’s commitment to ongoing infrastructure funding means South Australians can continue to access quality recreation and sport activities and facilities for many years to come.

“Last week we awarded more than $24.3 million in grants to sporting infrastructure projects right across South Australia, as part of the biggest ever investment in grassroots sport in the state’s history,” Minister Wingard said.

“The projects funded to date will deliver more than $57 million in project value across 39 different sports and many recreational activities.

“I’m excited to build on this momentum and continue to provide support in this area by giving the sport and recreation community another opportunity to share in a multi-million dollar cash boost.

“When our clubs win, everybody wins, as we see time and time again that the development of core infrastructure, community hubs and well-designed facilities increases participation rates in sport and recreation activities.

“This aligns with the objectives of our Game On: Getting South Australia moving initiative which aims to get South Australians moving and enjoying the many social, health and lifestyle benefits sport and recreation provide.”

Eligible sport and recreation groups and local councils who wish to update their sporting facilities, are encouraged to apply and should focus on how their project promotes multi-use/multi-user experiences and high participation rates from across a region.

Applications for the Infrastructure Projects 2021-22 grant programs are now open and will close Wednesday 4 August 2021.
