$26 million invested
The State Centre of Football will become the new home of Football SA (FSA) and will include a 5,000-spectator stadium and FIFA compliant grass show pitch. Two additional full-sized artificial pitches and 10 five-aside artificial pitches complement the main arena and all pitches will be lit.
The facility will be able to accommodate international and national events, as well as local competition, participation and training.
Additional new features include:
- 200-car carpark
- FSA administrative and corporate facilities
- Public café
- New intersection with Briens Road
- New road with footpaths and street trees
The project responds to a growing demand for football facilities (particularly in the northern suburbs) and a rise in young women’s football participation.
This project forms part of the State Sports Park development and will be integrated with Roma Mitchell Secondary College and the Croatian Sports Centre.
