The Women’s Recreational Running Network (WRRN) is breaking down barriers for female participation in physical activity for its 2,000+ registered members.

The women’s only running group was created as an easy and free way for a community of Adelaide women to de-stress and get more active, more often.

This supportive community network encourages individual goals with a variety of running options throughout the week and also offers great social benefits with the opportunity to catch up at social events too.

Catering for women of all ages and fitness levels, everyone is welcome!

If you are signing up to run for the first time you will not be on your own, as 50% of the total registered runners are or were new to running.

With 2019 figures showing that only 66% of South Australian adults are meeting the National Physical Activity Guidelines requirements, this program is taking steps to ensure physical activity and play can fit seamlessly into the daily lives of women in a safe and flexible environment.

What are you waiting for?!

Register for the WRRN here. Participation is free but all participants must complete a one-off registration.

Another way of getting started, getting fitter and gaining support is through the Heart Foundation walking plans.

You can get your own personal walking plan or even join a local walking group in your area. Find out more here.
