This weekend is an historic and monumental one for football in South Australia as the Adelaide Crows Women and AFLW expansion side Port Adelaide play matches.

Adelaide are the first South Australian cab off the rank, with the reigning premiers kicking off their season tonight in Glenelg, in a Grand Final rematch against the Melbourne Demons.

Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing, Katrine Hildyard, will be there to toss the coin before the match.

On Saturday Port Adelaide will play their inaugural match against the West Coast Eagles in Western Australia, before their first home game in Round 2 where they will take on the Western Bulldogs.
