Spectators and players have been overjoyed with the redevelopment of the Hectorville Sports and Community Club, recently completed at Daly Oval.

The State Government provided $280,000 in funding to the Campbelltown City Council to build female change rooms at the Club.

This funding was the catalyst for further works to be carried out on site with the Council redeveloping the whole building to a total cost of $3.8 million, along with $500,000 in funding also received from the Federal Government.

Campbelltown City Council CEO, Paul Di Iulio said the benefits of this project are far-reaching.

“The upgraded facility will ensure the growth of female participation in both cricket and football, whilst the inclusiveness of the new facility enables people of all ages and abilities to actively participate in the local Community,” Mr Di Iulio said.

“The upgrade of the Hectorville Sports and Social Club is a great example of Local, State and Federal Government working together for the greater good of the local Community.”

Enhanced community use of the shared spaces will facilitate football, cricket and tennis, achieving increased player safety and more participation in community sport – part of the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing’s Game On initiative to get South Australians moving.
