Port Adelaide Football Club’s new AFLW high performance and community facilities were officially opened at Alberton Oval today.

The new facilities, a key part of a massive rejuvenation of the precinct, include new change rooms, a hot and cold bath recovery area, a new run out and administration areas.

The new administration areas includes a boardroom, office space, a media room, meeting rooms and reception.

The State Government has provided $17 million toward the redevelopment of Alberton Oval which is transforming the precinct and increasing community access.

The next stage of the redevelopment includes a new heritage inspired grandstand to increase ground capacity to cater for AFLW growth, SANFL games and AFL pre-season fixtures.

Further stages will include a new Port Adelaide Bowling Club with synthetic green and clubrooms are planned as part of the next phase of redevelopment of the Alberton Oval precinct.

The Alberton Oval redevelopment not only features world-class AFL and AFLW playing and training facilities for the Port Adelaide Football Club, it also incorporates multi-use community sport and recreation facilities that can be utilised by the local community.

These include junior basketball, junior soccer, lawn bowls, community events, and passive recreation and community space.
