Hundreds of South Australian sport and active recreation clubs will kick off the New Year with more resources following a funding boost through the State Government’s Active Club Program.
The latest round sees 558 clubs share in more than $1.4 million to support the delivery of programs and services within their local communities.
Clubs with 100 or more members will receive $3,000, while clubs with between 20 and 99 members will receive $1,500.
The investment is designed to help clubs with essential costs such as equipment and uniforms, while also supporting initiatives that encourage greater participation and inclusion.
Funding can be used to deliver inclusive programs that remove barriers to participation, including initiatives that support girls’ and women’s involvement in sport through the provision of period products, flexible uniform options, and menstrual health education.
The benefits of the ACP will be felt across the state, with 50 per cent of funded clubs located in regional South Australia or greater metropolitan areas. The full list of Active Club Program grant recipients is available here.
