SA legislation requires organisations that provide services for children, create and maintain a child safe environment. This requires policies and procedures to be developed to support this.
All members however, who sign up to a sport or recreation organisation, can rightly expect that they will also be protected from harassment, discrimination or harm from others in the organisation.
Member Protection Policies which incorporate a child safe policy are adopted by many organisations.
Training is available to support this.
Sport SA, through a contractual arrangement with the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR) has been engaged to deliver the following courses.
If you would like register for a course, or facilitate training specific for your club or association, please contact Sport SA at membership@sportsa.org.au or https://www.sportsa.org.au/trng/ for more information.
