Positive change is happening. Change that will see girls and women able to equally and actively participate in every aspect of their chosen sport.
The #GIRLSCAN #WOMENCAN video was officially launched by Katrine Hildyard MP at the Celebration of Women's Sport event held in conjunction with Football Federation South Australia, at The Parks Football Complex.
Held on International Women’s Day, the event featured come and try activities from a range of sports as well as a Q & A session with Adelaide United W-League captain Stella Rigon, Adelaide Thunderbirds captain Erin Bell and Adelaide Crows player Sarah Perkins.
The driving message behind the video is 'if she can't see it, she can't be it,' featuring a number of South Australian females in sport, challenging stigma, stereotypes and bias and breaking down barriers.
The video is one of a number of initiatives led by the South Australian Women in Sport Taskforce, supported by the Office for Recreation and Sport, which aims to improve gender equality in all aspects of sport.
