This initiative will build and strengthen strategic partnerships and progress shared goals with other government portfolio areas. This project will see the ORSR work in new ways to nurture productive intergovernmental engagements.
ORSR will collaborate and activate partnerships with other Government agencies to enable and deliver greatest value to the public and outcomes through and for sport, recreation and racing. The issues and priorities identified in the sport and recreation industry agenda will inform the priority issues upon which strategic partnerships will be framed.
Identify and interpret emerging trends, research, technologies and innovations to support strategic decision making for the ORSR and the sport and recreation industry.
This initiative will involve the establishment of a research and innovation team within the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing. The aim is for the ORSR and the industry to achieve “next practice” ie to be ahead of the world in terms of products, programs and services.
While the outcomes of this initiative are not clear at the outset; it may result in a research paper, seminar series, pilot program, partnership and/or investment; an evidence based methodology will underpin the approach.
